What Consultants Have To Say
Here's what a few consultants have to say about the NM Program.
Ann Glora
Hyde Park YMCA
Hyde Park, MA
Completing the Nutrition Specialist program was a very good decision. Not only did I get reasonably priced CEC’s for all of my certifications, but I found a terrific program to take back to my facility. With guidance, we took the Nutrition Manager principles and applied them to a group setting. Entitled Healthy Balance, this is now a successful and profitable part of our programming.

Rye YMCA

I took the Nutritiion for Professionals course and was excited to learn of the YMCA program utilizing Nutrition Manager Consultants. We began our program January 24 and by mid April we had increased our income by almost $10,000. Participants in the program are making lifestyle changes and seeing results. Testimonials from members indicate that the program exceeds their expectations and all have made significant lifestyle changes. Dietitian support has been key in our providing such a successful program.
Eileen Kelly
West Roxbury YMCA
West Roxbury, MA
The YMCA group program, Healthy Balance, has been extremely successful for the West Roxbury YMCA. At least two new members join the YMCA each time I run the program. Healthy Balance is also an easy program to implement because all sessions are “scripted’ in easy to follow detailed steps. The program also provides participant handouts – so preparation time is minimal. Participants love the non-intimidating atmosphere and the lifestyle changing process.
Pam Giese
Lifestyle Restoration
Port Orange, FL YMCA
Healthy Balance was introduced to our YMCA in February of 2005. As we now complete the follow up evaluations, even I am amazed at the results that the participants are reporting and at the changes they have been able to implement, seamlessly into their lifestyles. Among the reported results in our first group are positive energy changes, craving reductions, more organized, productive home and business lives and a better understanding of how to grocery shop, prepare meals, and eat on a schedule that minimizes hunger and therefore allows for more thoughtful eating. One family is requesting enough of the software to incorporate the entire family in the Nutrition Manager computer program. The Licensed Group Instructor Program is allowing me to generate additional income, to reinforce the knowledge that I acquired at the Nutrition Manager Certification by teaching it, and most importantly, to reach people who are ready to make lifestyle changes, but need some guidance and coaching on the process. It is a perfect fit for my business and a natural progression for all Trainers and Nutrition Managers entering the “life-coaching” or health and wellness industry.

I started using Lifestyle Management software within my facility, Kaprice for Women. I have been a personal trainer for several years and in that time I have tried many different programs and nutritional tools to help my clients. Based on my experience and knowledge of other nutritional programs and tools, Lifestyle Management is the best. The software is extremely easy to use - I was able to teach myself. The support and infrastructure compliments the great software. In the past 3 weeks I have developed 20 custom meal plans and my business is booming! I can honestly recommend the Nutrition Specialist certification, software and program to any fitness professional or facility interested in offering the best nutritional program to their clients.

The Nutrition Manager Program is a win/win situation for myself and for the club where I work. The club has little or no expense, no equipment to buy and requires little space. We have advertised our weight management program to members and placed an ad in our local newspaper. The program has brought in new memberships and has increased personal training revenue. We also have an advantage over other clubs not providing weight management programs. I have asked a co-worker to become a Nutrition Manager Consultant with me so that we can accommodate more clients.

The Nutrition Manager program is exactly what I needed as a personal trainer. I became a Nutrition Manager Consultant and it’s well worth the monthly licensing fee. I not only incorporate a nutrition component with all my clients, I have clients from other personal trainers coming to me for nutrition; I even have clients from another club coming to me. And, if I have any questions or am unsure about anything, I can count on my AASDN dietitian for help. The program is great and I recommend it to all personal trainers that realize how important nutrition is to client success.

Fitness Etcetera
West Roxbury, MA
I have been a huge supporter of the Nutrition Manager Program since March 2002. Since then, I have increased my client base from approximately 15 active clients to well over 40 active clients just from my knowledge in nutrition! In 2003, I took over the Fitness Director position at Fitness Etcetera for Women and finalized the nutrition program for other trainers. For them to participate, though, they must be certified as Nutrition Specialists. This is the only way that our facility can ensure that honest, accurate information is being dispensed to the membership. I highly recommend the program.

I use the Nutrition Manager software as a teaching tool in my Nutrition and Exercise classes. After trying other applications for tracking calorie and nutrient data, students complained that using those programs was both tedious and inaccurate. The Nutrition Manager program receives excellent reviews from users citing that it provides greater nutrient detail at the touch of a few buttons. There are many varieties of foods listed and additional ingredients can be added, allowing for a more accurate analysis of one's diet. The Nutrition Manager program also has inputs for tracking blood chemistry profile and other related health information. It is the most complete program that I have used and I have greater confidence in the results it provides. My students are pleased with the comprehensive program and relative ease of use.
