2017 Membership Renewal

We hope that 2016 has been a healthy and successful year for you.  The team at AASDN wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to all our members who continue to provide support for AASDN activities. As a reminder, AASDN accepts no funds from advertising, no corporate sponsorships or government grants; we rely on AASDN programs and membership support to fund all our activities.

As a non-profit, AASDN sets itself apart from other nutrition organizations by providing:

  • Education, training and programming created on evidence-based scientific nutrition information.
  • Programs approved by Registered Dietitians aimed at allowing non-licensed professionals to safely and legally deliver accurate nutrition information.
  • Members with access to documents necessary to implement nutrition programs.
  • Dietitian support to all active members at no additional charge.

In August of this year, AASDN entered into a partnership with Lockton Affinity to offer competitively priced Professional Liability Insurance to all AASDN members.  If you have struggled in the past to get liability insurance that covers your nutrition services, this is a tremendous opportunity.  Lockton Affinity will cover your exercise/personal training and nutrition services all on one comprehensive policy.  To obtain a free quote, go to the AASDN website and select the link under the “Log In” tab for Professional Liability Insurance.

We are also excited to announce that we are actively working with an interactive e-learning company, Fitness Learning Systems, to develop home study and continuing education materials.  Fitness Learning Systems’ proprietary and innovative delivery will provide new opportunities and exposure for AASDN.  Our first course is expected to be ready in the first quarter of 2017.  Fitness Learning Systems is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and all AASDN courses delivered through their platform will also receive this accreditation.  Be on the lookout for additional information in early 2017.

We continue to strive to meet our mission of providing sound, scientific, nutrition education, certifications, and resources to health and fitness professionals.

Thanks in advance for renewing your Nutrition Specialist or Nutrition Manager membership and we wish you health and success in 2017.
